ASPEN Guidelines for Choosing an Enteral Feeding Pump

In 2016, ASPEN (American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition) issued recommendations on enteral pump selection to maximize safety and efficacy.

As these recommendations are especially important in areas with sensitive patients. ASPEN’s guidelines are especially applicable to the neonate population. However, very few enteral feeding pumps actually meet the standards that were put forth to help provide the best care for these patients.

Infinity Orange Small Volume Enteral Feeding Pumps have emerged as a valuable tool in these settings, as they provide safe and accurate feeding to those patients who often have delicate and specific nutritional needs, while also minimizing wasted milk and providing an easy-to-use interface for the nursing staff. We recently put together this chart to show how the Infinity Orange pump stacks up compared to the ASPEN guidelines.
