Next-Generation CURLIN 380 Administration Sets Released

The new CURLIN 380 Administration Sets is a family of disposable infusion sets that will replace the existing CURLIN 340 Administration Sets, which are being discontinued.

All new 380 sets are compatible with CURLIN 8000, CURLIN 6000, and CURLIN PainSmart infusion pumps and have all the same features and configurations as the current 340 sets, but with some enhancements.

What is changing?

  • The filter is updated, but retains the same key features (air elimination and low protein binding). The new 380 set filter requires a different priming method: inverting the filter so the arrow points upwards. Please be sure to read the priming instructions included on the 380 set instructions for use.
  • The yellow free-flow protection device now features a “half-moon” shaped breakaway tab instead of the previous “full-moon” shape, making it easier to remove. Also, the arm on the yellow free-flow protection device is longer, which makes loading the set into the pump easier.
  • 380 sets are validated for up to 96 hours of use with the CURLIN 8000 pump, and up to 72 hours with the CURLIN 6000 and PainSmart pumps.
  • Because the existing 340 sets are being discontinued, the new 380 sets will all have new product codes starting with “380-“.

See all the new 380 set configurations details on our CURLIN Infusion Administration Sets page.

When does this happen?

Beginning after October 31st, 2025, Moog will no longer accept orders for the old 340 sets. However, we will continue to fulfill orders for these sets that were placed before that date.

For patients:

Patients will notice that the packaging of the new 380 sets look slightly different than the existing 340 sets. Every 340 set that patients currently use has a corresponding new 380 set. Other than the filter priming instructions indicated above, there is no change to how a patient uses the sets.

For healthcare providers:

The ordering process for new 380 sets remains the same as the current process. Order your sets through your distributor or directly through Moog Medical Customer Service. For additional information on ordering and support, please see the CURLIN 380 Series Set Announcement Letter here.
