Alarms, Messages and Indications

The Infinity® uses alarms, messages and indications in the display screen to help you diagnose and troubleshoot the most common questions about pump operation.

Troubleshooting - Alarms

LOAD SET

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Load Infinity® delivery set and close the door.
  3. Make sure cassette receptacle is clean, especially around sensors.

LOW BATT

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Plug in AC charger.

NO FLOW IN

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Check tubing for kinks or blockages.
  3. Make sure cassette receptacle is clean, especially around sensors.

NO FLOW OUT

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Check tubing for kinks or blockages.
  3. Make sure cassette receptacle is clean, especially around sensors.
  4. Potential back pressure from patient (check with physician).

Troubleshooting - Alarms

NO FOOD

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Check the feeding container. Refill and PRIME if empty.
  3. Check tubing for air bubbles. Disconnect from patient and PRIME to remove air from tubing.
  4. Make sure cassette receptacle is clean, especially around sensors.
  5. Make sure Infinity® delivery set is properly loaded and close the door.
  6. Check delivery set for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.

PUSH RUN TO FEED

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Press ON/OFF to turn pump off.

SHUT DOOR

To correct this condition, you would:

  1. Press RUN/PAUSE to silence alarm and put pump in PAUSE mode.
  2. Close pump door and check to make sure the latch is secure.

Troubleshooting - Messages

DOSE DONE

This message indicates a single feeding dose has been delivered.

NEXT DOSE

This message indicates an INTERVAL feeding is underway and the time (in hours and minutes) before the next feeding begins.

CHEK

This message indicates that the programmed RATE, DOSE and FEED INTERVAL are incompatible.

TO STOP LET GO

This message is displayed when pressing and holding the PRIME key to prime the tubing. To stop priming, release the PRIME key.

NOTE: If your pump is equipped with an auto prime option, refer to the Operator?s Manual for details.

Troubleshooting - Indications

Pump on AC Power, battery symbol flashing

This indicates the pump is connected to AC power but the battery is not charging (Contact your equipment provider for service).

If the delivery set is missing or improperly loaded, this alarm will occur.  Stop Audio
When the battery has 1 hour or less of charge remaining, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
When there is a block in the tube between the feeding container and the pump, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
When there is a block in the tube between the pump and the patient, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
If the pump detects air in the tubing, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
If the pump has been in PAUSE mode for 2 minutes, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
If the door opens while the pump is running, this alarm will occur. Stop Audio
